Rochester is full of what we call “cookie-cutter” real estate agents who employ the same, tired marketing methods. They adhere strongly to the belief that to step out of the pack, to approach the business of real estate differently, is unwise.
Not Kris Lindahl; he has been a leader in the advancement of the use of technology in real estate practices, in creating home marketing plans that eschew the old and the tired and get homes sold.
A Twin Cities native, Kris came to real estate after obtaining a degree in education at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Teaching jobs were rare in those days so when Lindahl’s father-in-law, a veteran Realtor, suggested that the real estate industry might be a good fit for him, Kris dove in. “And I was instantly captivated,” he says.
It didn’t take Lindahl long to shake up the industry either. Within just a few years of receiving his license he became known as the creator of a “technology-based real estate powerhouse in the Twin Cities,” according to RealEstate.com. A few years later, RealTrends, a real estate publishing, communications and consulting company, and Trulia placed Lindahl on their list of “America’s Best Real Estate Agents.”
This year he made the list of the best agents in the country, compiled by Real Trends and the Wall Street Journal. In fact, the list shows that Lindahl is the number 2 agent in the Twin Cities.
When he’s not working with clients to buy or sell homes in the Twin Cities, Lindahl spends every spare minute with his wife and daughter. They enjoy family outings to watch the Minnesota Wild and fishing at his favorite “secret” fishing holes.
Lindahl also turns to athletics to deal with the stress of running a successful real estate practice. Although golf is his favorite, he also likes to play football. Fishing is a passion as well.
Ask anyone who has worked with Kris Lindahl and they’ll tell you that his dedication to his clients, his amazing negotiation skills and his passion to win are the qualities they most admire in our leader. Plus, he’s one of the most personable guys you’ll ever meet.

Hey! It’s Maple Grove Native, Alissa Norquist
Not only can Team Lindahl’s Alissa Norquist help you buy or sell a home, she’ll also give you advice on your hair, if you ask. That’s because cosmetology was this Maple Grove Senior High School graduate’s original career. She did it for about a decade before the recession shut the salon.
It’s ok, though, because a far more important job was waiting for it ―that of a full-time, stay-at-home mom. As the kids grew so did Alissa, and she jumped at the chance to rejoin the workforce after Kris Lindahl convinced her to join his team. Like most folks who can’t say no to Lindahl’s persuasive nature, she jumped into real estate with both feet.
Speaking of feet, Alissa’s are busy, running around Elk River. Pre-babies, Alissa worked with a trainer to get her ready for fitness competitions. “I even had a trainer that tracked my workouts and diet. I ate oatmeal for breakfast, chicken for lunch and chicken for dinner every day for 2 years,” she says, laughing. “As boring as it sounds, I had never felt better in my life.”
Her favorite part of real estate is helping Rochester residents make their dreams come true. She looks forward to helping you, too.

Meet Brandy Skonseng | Tenacious Negotiator
Personally, we think Brandy Skonseng channels Audrey Hepburn sometimes. “Nothing is impossible; the word itself says 'I'm possible'!” claimed the actress and humanitarian. If ever there was a person worthy of that quote, it’s our Ms. Skonseng.
Brandy is a Minnesota native and she comes to Team Lindahl from her job as a project manager with United Electric.
But we’d like to take you back to the beginning and it starts in Isanti. It was the idyllic country setting for a kid and it was here that Brandy rode bikes and three wheelers and “drove” her Matchbox cars through the dirt. If you’re wondering where the Barbie dolls are, you don’t know Brandy. She claims it’s because she was the only girl within two miles so the playmate pool was limited to boys.
Fast-forward to high school and we see Brandy graduating six months ahead of the rest of her class and enrolling at Anoka Ramsey Community College – at the age of 17. She graduated early from this school as well, taking with her a degree in business management.
It took the birth of her son, however, to slow Brandy down long enough to smell the real estate roses. With the desire the make her own schedule, she found the real estate industry was the perfect fit. Twelve years after obtaining her real estate license Ms. Skonseng is fully a part of Team Lindahl with Kris Lindahl Real Estate.
When she’s not working, Brandy enjoys giving back to the community and her involvement with the Children’s Miracle Network is one of the most fulfilling parts of her life. She’s also an avid down-hill skier and loves to get out in the ATV in the summer. You may also find her on the tennis courts or spectating at her 14-year old son’s high school football games.
By the way, that baby boy of Brandy’s is now 14 years old and when she’s not working, this proud Mama can be found cheering him on at his high school football games. The family also enjoys summers spent on the ATV and winters down-hill skiing. Brandy gives back to the community through her work with the Children’s Miracle Network.
So what does this tenacious negotiator like best about her career? “Being a realtor has allowed me to help clients with what could be the biggest purchase of their lives,” Brandy explains. “I love nothing more than to see the smiles on my clients faces when they purchase their new home or sell their home and move into the next chapter of their lives.”

Meet Jamie Kenton | Real Estate Sales Pro and Mortgage Wiz Kid
“I LOVE yard work! The greener the better; thank God for sprinkler systems!” Jamie Kenton says, laughing, when we commented on the amazing landscaping at his home in Hanover. So, when he represents you in the purchase of a Minnesota house, not only can he break down the real estate and mortgage processes for you, he can also give you tips on what to do with the landscaping.
Born and raised in Minnesota, Kenton grew up in Brooklyn Park and Robbinsdale. His summers, however, were spent at Gramma’s house on Twin Lake and he shares fond memories of looking for painted turtles, swimming and fishing. “The lake wasn’t green back then,” he recalls.
Kenton assumed he’d follow in his Uncle John’s footsteps and become a police officer but he never made it to the academy. He bought a house when he was only 19 and proceeded to remodel it. That’s when the real estate bug bit and becoming a cop became a memory.
He began his real estate career in the mortgage industry and found that, although he liked working to help homebuyers get the money they needed to buy a home, what he really wanted to do was help them find the home. So, he switched to our end of the real estate industry and we’re so fortunate to have him as a member of Team Lindahl.
Believe it or not, real estate agents do find time for themselves outside of the business. When Kenton’s not working he loves the time he gets to spend with his family, a 2-year old daughter and a 5-year old son. Oh, and the captain of his heart, Mrs. Kenton. “I wouldn’t be the person I am today without my wife . . . my rock!”
Ask Jamie Kenton what he likes best about his career in real estate and he doesn’t hesitate. “I love watching my clients light up when I find them the house. The excitement is so contagious! I mean, I actually get to help people fulfill their dreams. What a rewarding job!”
